Content

The course Artifiical Intelligence (AI) and machine Learning (ML) introduces foundational principles, which are increasingly shaping global innovation, with a focus on computational thinking in smart farming. Students will explore key AI/ML concepts such as pattern recognition, classification, and decision support, and apply accessible digital platforms to prototype practical solutions. Emphasis is placed on interpretability, sustainability, and responsible AI use in agricultural and environmental systems.

Previous knowledge expected

Some mathematical basics and using computational tools will help. Due to the fact that the language of AI and ML is mostly in English - this course is in English only.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students will acquire foundational knowledge in AI and ML with a focus on applications in smart farming. Students will develop an understanding of basic mathematical and computational concepts relevant to AI. Students will gain practical skills in using digital tools for data analysis and AI model implementation. By the end of the course, they will be able to interpret and apply core AI techniques to support digital transformation processes in farming, fostering critical thinking and curiosity toward responsible and human-centered AI use in environmental domains. Due to the fact that the language of AI and ML is mostly in English - this course is in English only.
