In this course, we will study the multifaceted topic of environmental justice. We will familiarize ourselves with the main conceptions and framing of justice and explore some of the philosophical understandings of what justice is. Equipped with these skills, we will explore a number of international case studies to make justice issues more concrete and attempts at negotiating them more tangible. In this context, we also will engage with artistic expressions (paintings, comics, movies) of environmental conflicts.
