Content

The AG LMT internship focuses on thermal (heat transfer, drying) and mechanical process engineering (pumps, extrusion, membrane filtration), hygienic design and engineering, as well as technical fundamentals and background knowledge for the life sciences sector.
This course will be held only in german!

Note:
If you are interested in the topics of fluidized beds, heat pump technology, flow measurement and residence time measurement, or particle classification, fluidized beds, extraction, rectification, and drying at the Institute for Process and Energy Engineering (IVET), you can also attend the equivalent course LV 100032. Courses also in english available.

Previous knowledge expected

recommended but not mandatory:
Lecture Fundamentals of mechanical engineering
Lecture Process Engineering
.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After successful completion of the course the students know different unit-operations from practical point of view and are able to better understand theoretical correlations. Due to experience of the students working with plants in pilot scale, the students are able to design simple processes and to link real technical and economical aspects into the concepts. In addition the students are able to search scientific literature and write a scientific protocol.
