Content

The practical course focuses on thermal (heat transfer, drying) and mechanical process engineering (pumps, extrusion, membrane filtration), as well as the technical fundamentals and background knowledge relevant to the life sciences field.

.

Previous knowledge expected

Eecommended but not mandatory: Lectures in the field of process engineering.

.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Upon successful completion, students will have a practical understanding of various unit operations and will be better able to grasp theoretical concepts. They will gain insight into the application of theory to practice in the technical sciences. Through their experience with pilot plants, students will be able to design simple technical processes, develop a deeper understanding of technology, and incorporate real-world technical and economic considerations into their analyses. In addition, students are able to search for and analyze scientific and technical literature and derive information from it for technical implementation and reporting.
