Content

The project topics are based on ongoing research projects at the participating institutes.

For 2026, the main focus is on soil biodiversity (earthworms, microorganisms) and how it is influenced by land use (forest, grassland vs. arable land) and soil parameters (pH, humus content, macronutrients, texture).

Students collect data in the field, evaluate it and use it to produce an independent scientific paper.
They learn how to develop relevant questions, survey methods and evaluation methods (statistics), and how to present and interpret the results.

Previous knowledge expected

Some expertise in determining plant or animal species

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Acquisition of the competence to grasp and analyze the phenomenon of biodiversity according to its diversity.
