- Mechanics of glaciers and alpine landforms
- Glacial/periglacial processes and natural hazards
- Slope processes: hill-top convexity, sediment transport, slope stability, landslides, rockfalls
- Fluvial systems: longitudinal profile, valley incision, channel morphology, “river rules,” sediment dynamics, floodplains, terrace and alluvial fan formation
- Landscape evolution models

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand the connections between natural processes and (cultural) engineering measures, identify natural hazard processes in alpine terrain, and understand the dynamics of these processes.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to quantitatively describe geomorphological processes.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to make quantitative predictions regarding geomorphological processes.
