The course introduces to the role of forests in carbon sequestration as well as on the impacts of climate change and resulting adaptation needs to sustain ecosystem services. Mitigation includes in situ Carbon sequestration, Carbon sequestration in wood products and substitution, potentials and limitations. Focus is on Central European forests and forestry.
