Content

Communication:

Master situations with strictly formal language: greeting, introducing yourself, etc.
Ask for things, actions, and favors. Ask for permission, grant permission.
Talk about habits, customs, and living conditions in the past.
Classify actions in the past and in the present.
Describe pain, complaints, and symptoms.
Talk about moods; give advice.

Grammar:

The gerund.
The imperfect.
Time expressions for the past and the present.
The difference between indefinido and imperfect.
The use of the verbs ser and estar.
The verb doler.
Formation and use of the imperative.
Introduction to the subjunctive.

Vocabulary:

Polite verbs: poder, importar, ayudar, dejar / prestar, pasar, poner, tener.
History and society. Life stages (historical periods).
Memories and feelings (historical events).
Vocabulary related to health. Parts of the body.
Illnesses, complaints, and symptoms.


Listening comprehension and communication using videos and other aids.
As the majority of the exercises used are of a communicative nature, the constant active participation of the participants is a fundamental prerequisite for conveying the above-mentioned teaching content.

Previous knowledge expected

Good previous knowledge of the Spanish language is required.

The class is intended for the following students:

Students who have successfully completed "Spanisch III"

Students with a good level of the Spanish language acquired in courses in Austria or extended visits to Spain or Latin America.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

This class is the continuation of the class Spanisch III and aims at further development and broadening of linguistic skills that require previous knowledge of basic linguistic structures and vocabulary of the Spanish language.

Special stress will be laid on the communicative aspects of the language.
