10 years of BOKU CO2 compensation system

The BOKU CO2 compensation system started 10 years ago. This means that BOKU was and is still the only university that implements its own climate protection projects to offset internal CO2 emissions.

In the meantime, the CO2 compensation system is also in high demand from private individuals and companies.

Thanks to the many compensation payments (over € 1 million), eight climate protection projects have already been started in countries in the global south. In total, around 150,000 tons of CO2 will be bound over the term!
