Institute of Colloid and Biointerface Science
At the Institute of Colloid and Biointerface Science we take an interest in the nano- and micro-scale organization of systems created according to biologically relevant principles, of biological origin, or of relevance for ecosystems and the environment. We especially focus on developing methods based in physics to study biologiocal and biointerface interactions in colloidal systems. Particular systems of interest are polymer interafaces, core-shell nanoparticles, bacteria, and biofilms. While predominantly performing curiosity-driven fundamental research, we strive to keep applications in mind and support technology translation with basic research projects.
