Soil-X-Change

The project “Initiative to Promote Cross-Border Knowledge Exchange and Knowledge Generation on Sustainable Soil and Farm Management (Soil-X-Change)” will connect farmers, stakeholders, policymakers, projects, and initiatives in order to accelerate innovation and support the broad, practical implementation of innovative solutions.

The project will strengthen an effective AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System) by intensifying thematic collaboration among researchers, farmers, and other stakeholders across the EU. Soil-X-Change will contribute to environmentally friendly, smart agriculture, climate neutrality, and sustainability, while improving knowledge exchange among key actors. Soil-X-Change was initiated by the EIP-AGRI Operational Groups (OGs) and reflects the concerns of 151 direct partners. Results and data generated by the various EIP-AGRI OGs and project partners will be collected, analyzed, and integrated into a shared database. Soil-X-Change will disseminate and exchange innovative agricultural practices in nine Member States. In addition, the project will bring together EIP-AGRI OGs and key stakeholders involved in sustainable soil and farm management to build an EU-wide network, share knowledge, and introduce validated farming practices that enable farmers to make sound decisions regarding sustainable production methods.

By the end of the project, the knowledge and innovative ideas of both OG members and non-members will be broadened by presenting their results to a larger number of stakeholders and farmers within an international network across all EU countries. Soil-X-Change will follow a bottom-up approach (from farmers to the OGs), deepen practical knowledge, and share it through the main dissemination channels for farmers and practitioners.
