Biosphere n+1

A transdisciplinary play in 3 acts

In the course of an event with the title “Biosphere n+1”, students from the master program “Art & Science” of the University of Applied Arts and the Doctoral School of Sustainable Development (dokNE) reflected on the area of tension between real and modelled worlds.

Biosphere 2, an experiment implemented in the 1990s that tried to build a closed, independent system served as starting point to develop a transdisciplinary play that enacted “biospherian” versions of sustainability. Artworks produced in the frame of this event as well as installations designed by Art & Science students were exhibited in the Schwackhöferhaus. More information
