Debre Markos University Awards First Honorary Doctorate Degree to BOKU Geomatics researcher

Reinfried Mansberger, expert in land administration and geomatics, is honored by the Ethiopian Debre Markos University for many years of cooperation. In a special ceremony, the numerous joint projects, which made a significant contribution to the establishment of land administration in teaching and research in Ethiopia, were honored.

Agriculture after tin-mining in Indonesia

Together with the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), researchers from the Institute of Soil Research, Agronomy, and Development Research are investigating the effects of locally available soil amendments on agricultural yield, soil fertility parameters, and the heavy metal contents in both harvested crops and post-tin mining soils.

Advanced Cell Culture Technologies

On 17.03.2023 the Workshop "Advanced Cell Culture Technologies" of the ÖGMBT Working Group "Cell based assays, therapies and products" took place at BOKU. 15 PhD students of the BOKU doctorate school ABCM ("Advanced Biorefineries - Chemistry and Materials") visited three internationally leading Japanese institutions in this field during a twelve-day excursion: Shinshu University (fiber science), Kyoto University (chemistry of lignocellulosics) / Kyoto University - Uji Campus (nanocelluloses and composites) and Kyoto Institute of Technology (processing of renewable resources).
