Best Talk & Poster prizes

for BioToP PhD students

Four students of the PhD program BioToP won prizes for both oral and poster presentations at the 6th Annual Meeting of the ÖGMBT (15.-19. September 2014).

Markus TOMEK from the Department of NanoBiotechnology won the “Austrian Young Glycoscientist Best Talk Award” with his talk entitled “Gylcoprotein biosynthesis in the oral pathogen Tannerella forsythia”. Simone KURZ from the Department of Chemistry won a “Best Short Talk Award” with her talk "N-glycan analysis of fucosylated and anionic glycan epitopes of the malaria mosquito Anopheles gambiae".

Justyna NOCON from the Department of Biotechnology and Stefan HOFBAUER from the Department of Chemistry won the best poster awards in the sessions “Bioengineering & Synthetic Biology” and “Translational Biotechnology”, respectively.
