Gastprofessor Prof. Dr. Markus Hrachowitz (TU Delft) am Institut für Alpine Naturgefahren
Content: An introduction to catchment-scale hydrological model development. Overview of different model types. In-depth introduction into the development of conceptual models. This includes (1) the understanding of dominant hydrological processes and their representation in these models (2) model calibration strategies, (3) identification of sources of model uncertainty, quantification and reduction thereof, (4) the benefit of semi-distributed model formulations and (5) model development in data-scarce environments. The course will consist of lectures and hands-on development of a conceptual hydrological model using MatLab.
Previous knowledge: Basics in hydrology; Matlabor knowledge in any other programming language is helpful (but not required)
