Klaus Fischer Innovation Award 2019 goes to Dr. Sven Plappert

The PhD thesis "Assembly of Nanocellulose Building Block into Anisotropic Membranes, Gels and Aerogels" by Dr. Sven Plappert has been awarded the Klaus-Fischer Innovation Award 2019.

The award recognizes Dr. Plappert´s excellent contributions to the field of nano-structuring of cellulosic aerogels and to the development of thermally superinsulating materials from renewable resources - a priority objective of the International Energy Agency IEA 2017.

The award was presented at an academic ceremony in BOKU´s ceremonial hall. Supervised by Assoc. Prof. Falk Liebner, the PhD project was conducted at the Institute for Chemistry of Renewable Resources and Sigma-Clermont, France.
