BOKU mourns the death of its honorary senator

Dr. Erhard Busek was one of Austria's great politicians who, as Minister of Science for many years, was very committed to the universities. In 2009, BOKU awarded him the dignity of Honorary Senator for his extraordinary and long-term commitment. As President of the European Forum Alpbach, the lawyer was a bridge builder for Europe - and beyond. As Chairman of the Board of the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe, he has done a great deal to promote intellectual exchange in the region. Erhard Busek would have celebrated his 81st birthday at the end of March. We will always remember him.
