EPNOE Young Scientist Award 2022

The EPNOE Junior Award 2022, which recognizes outstanding research in the field of polysaccharide science and technology was awarded to Dr. Marco Beaumont for his work on spatioselective chemistry of nanocellulose during the EPNOE Junior Conference 2022 in Aveiro, Portugal. The award is international and recognizes young scientists with up to seven years of experience since the completion of their doctoral studies.

Dr. Marco Beaumont is a junior group leader in the Institute of Chemistry of Renewable Resources, under the guidance of Prof. Thomas Rosenau and Prof. Antje Potthast. In his research, he is developing sustainable and selective chemical strategies to modify bio-based Nanoparticles. His work aims to precisely control the chemical structure and interactions of these particles to thereby help to address major limiting factors in this research field.
