Prof. Mirjana Kostić (Belgrade University) as guest professor at BOKU
Prof. Mirjana Kostić from the University of Belgrade (Serbia) gives a lecture with the title “Natural cellulosic fibers: Studying the fiber structure by microscopy” from Nov 10th to Nov 17th with theoretical and practical sessions at the BOKU Tulln site. The course offers important and comprehensive knowledge to study cellulosic fibers with a focus on their structure, morphology, and identification; and provides a comparative review of cellulose fibers from a unique perspective that explores fibers' structure and morphology facilitating a deeper understanding of these fibrous materials.
Prof. Mirjana Kostić is the head of the Department of Textile Engineering at the University of Belgrade. In her work, she focuses on fundamental and applied research of fiber chemistry and physics with a particular focus on cellulosic fibers and textiles. Her main expertise lays in the fields of textile chemical processing, chemical modification of textiles, and physical properties of fibers and textiles.
