BOKU Researchers at EASA


BOKU researcher Thomas Rosenau has been elected a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Thomas Rosenau of the Institute for the Chemistry of Renewable Raw Materials at the Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Resources has been admitted as a full member of the Academia Scientiarum et Artium Europaea (EASA – European Academy of Sciences and Arts).

During a ceremonial plenary session in Salzburg, the founding director of the Institute for the Chemistry of Renewable Raw Materials, Univ.Prof. Dr.rer.nat. DDr.h.c. Thomas Rosenau, was admitted as a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Class “Natural Sciences”) on March 7, 2026, and received the certificate of honor from the Academy President.

The European Academy of Sciences and Arts is a non-governmental European association dedicated to promoting scientific and social progress. Its members include leading scientists—among them over 30 Nobel laureates—as well as artists and prominent figures committed to innovative research, interdisciplinary and transnational collaboration, and the exchange and dissemination of knowledge.
