Chemistry of Renewable Nanomaterials
The group “Chemistry of Renewable Nanomaterials (ChemReMat)” is concerned with the preparation of functional nanoparticles from biomass streams. The focus is on the development of sustainable, and selective chemical pathways. In addition, the utilization and upcycling of biomass waste streams and the development of analytical methods to analyze and characterize biocolloids are addressed in research.

Lignin2Day – Lignin Chemistry and Multi-Dimensional Analysis
The group “Lignin2Day” is working towards a more comprehensive understanding of lignin structure and composition by developing novel analytical methods using multidimensional approaches. The aim is to elaborate the intricate interrelationships between the main chemical features of lignin, including molar mass, functionality, monomeric composition, bonding pattern and molecular architecture, its properties and chemical behavior in diverse applications.
