Our research area
Our research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of cell wall formation in plants, with a particular emphasis on glycosyltransferases. These enzymes play a key role in the synthesis of the complex polysaccharides that form the structural framework of plant cells. Glycosyltransferases are crucial for the structure and composition of the cell wall, which impacts the growth, development, and stress resistance of plants.
Through an interdisciplinary approach and the use of methods from biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics, we aim to uncover the functions of these enzymes and their contribution to cell wall biosynthesis. Our research has the potential to provide new insights into plant biology, with applications ranging from improving the resilience and yield of crops to advancing biofuels and sustainable materials.
