English Requirements for LWM

Applicants with BSc degrees from the following English speaking countries do not require a language certificate:

Australia, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Canada, Cook Islands, Eritrea, Eswatini, Gambia, Ghana, Guyana, India, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Philippines,Singapore, South Africa, St. Vincent en Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia, and Zimbabwe

Applicants from all other countries are required to provide evidence of English language proficiency from internationally recognised testing organisations!

Accepted Test Scores for LWM

IELTS (Academic Test):

  • Overall score of 6.0, with minimum writing band score of 6.0.
  • band scores of 6.5 and higher are preferred

TOEFL:

  • for the internet-based test (iBT): 90-91 overall (+ min. of 17 for writing)
  • for the revised paper-delivered test: 65 overall (+ min. of 17 for writing)
  • for the TOEFL Home Edition: 95 overall (+ min. of 17 for writing)


Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other languages):

  • Certificate of Proficiency in English CPE (or C2/Proficiency): grade A/B/C
  • Certificate of Advanced English CAE (or C1/Advanced): grades A/B/C
  • First Certificate in English FCE (or B2/First): min. 160 or grades A/B
  • Preliminary English Test PET at B2 level: min. 160
  • Business English Certificate (Higher) BEC (or C1 Business Higher): min.45 or grades A/B/C
  • Business English Certificate (Vantage) BEC (or B2 Business Vantage): min. 60 or grade A/B
  • Business English Certificate (Preliminary) BEC: min. 160


TOEIC Public Programme test (the Institutional TOEIC test is not accepted)

  • Overall score at least 960 points
  • Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) must have minimum score 150 for all three tests:
  1. TOEIC Listening and Reading
  2. TOEIC Speaking and
  3. TOEIC Writing tests

A letter/statement of English proficiency is not sufficient for obtaining academic admission to LWM!
