Terms and Conditions for Advanced Training Courses Offered by the Personnel Development

Courses:

The advanced training courses offered by the Personnel Development count towards BOKU's Training Pass. They are no university courses and cannot be accredited for academic study programs. Participants receive a confirmation of participation (no reports).

Target Group:

The advanced training courses offered by the Personnel Development are generally only open for BOKU staff members and are offered for a fee which is stated in the course description. Individual courses, especially those catering internal knowledge management skills, are free of charge.

The individual courses are directed at specific target groups amongst the staff members (for example, for scientific personnel or managers). Occasionally, specific previous knowledge or BOKU-internal functions or experiences are required. These are stated in the course description in each case.

Registration and Participation:

Course registration is binding. Previous agreement with supervision is assumed.

Registration is made as stated in the course description - either within BOKUonline or via a Personnel Development form. For courses with a limited number of participants, the order of registration decides on participation. The Personnel Development reserves the right to refuse registration if a person does not match the target group or does not meet the registration requirements. Furthermore, the Personnel Development reserves the right to place persons on the waiting list if they only partially belong to the target group, do not fully meet the registration requirements or if there are other persons who are more in need of the course offered (for example, to reach qualification goals).
All courses will only take place provided that a minimum number of participants has been reached. The Personnel Development reserves the right to cancel courses if minimum registration numbers are not met or in case of other severe reasons (such as, for example, illness or personal incapability of the lecturer, required IT system failures, etc.). In case of cancellation by the Personnel Development there are no charges.

Charges:

The charges are displayed in the course description of each course. After the course, the charge is automatically billed or allocated respectively.

In case you cannot participate in a course that you registered for, please cancel your reservation in due time. No cancellation charge is due if registration is cancelled before the end of the registration period. After that, however, you are charged for the course unless an alternate participant can be named.

Domiciliary Right:

The course participants are subject to the house rules in force at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. It is not allowed to bring other persons, animals, food or beverages to the training classrooms. Please observe the no smoking rule.

The training classrooms' equipment and IT resources made available for the participants during the course session may only be used for these training purposes. They must not be used for other purposes outside the training sessions. The Personnel Development reserves the right to exclude participants from the course if they do not fulfill the requirements or disobey the above stated rules or disrupt the course for other reasons.

The responsibility for learning success remains with the course participants. No warranty is accepted for individual learning success.

Privacy:

All information on the participants will be treated confidentially. As the data is stored electronically, we would like to point out that personal data is not forwarded to or used by third parties unless we have the legal obligation to do so. Apart from that, your data will exclusively be used internally.
