The course addresses first stage researchers (before dissertation and with completed master's degree) and scientific staff members who want to get to know the different possibilities of searching for and accessing literature at BOKU.

Objectives:

The workshop will provide the participants with an overview of the different options of searching for scientific literature at BOKU.
Skills on using the different online-tools for searching for literature (BOKU:LITsearch, databases, e-journal-platforms, open-access-databases and other free to use online-resources) at BOKU will be trained.Furthermore there will be a focus on accessing and using e-resources (e-journals, e-books). 

Content:

Overview of the different options of searching for literature at BOKU
Introduction to using BOKU:LITsearch
Introduction to using literature databases (SCOPUS, Web of Science, ProQuest etc.)
Introduction to using free available online-platforms and -resources for literature search
How to access and use e-resources (e-journals and e-books) in fulltext

Methods:

Every participant will be able to work on a computer workstation and to perform searches together with the trainer (learning by doing). Examples and use cases will be discussed.

Group size: max. 16 participants

The workshop will take place online via ZOOM.
