... our forests, a natural and renewable resource

Sustainable forest management can provide ecosystem services under changing social and environmental conditions. We develop and tailor scientific concepts and methods to safeguard the demands and interests of stakeholders and the society.

The integration of ecological, socio-economical and technical knowledge for developing and implementing sustainable forest management concepts is essential in our research and teaching activities. We bridge the different disciplines of forest sciences and act as an interface to forest practioners.
