Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems
From 1970 to 2008 the world experienced over 400 economic crises, including 145 banking crises that encompassed the entire sector. It is therefore legitimate to question the economic, monetary and financial system. The Summer School "Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems" (AEMS) focuses on alternative and innovative concepts for economic and monetary systems and researches the extent to which these take ecological limits and social standards into account. Since its etablishment, internationally recognized speakers have discussed theoretical concepts, empirical data and practical examples with around 50 students from all over the world - at the BOKU. The summer school goes back to an initiative of the common good economy and the ÖAD housing management, is under the scientific direction of the gW/N and fills a gap in the current range of university offers. You can find more information about the Summer School here.
