Dr. Reithofer, a specialist in biotechnology developments based on baculoviruses, works in collaboration with IABIMO researchers
Between November 18 and December 2, we received Dr. Manuel Reithofer, a researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology at BOKU University, in Vienna, Austria. Currently, he is working in collaboration with the researcher Victoria Alfonso and the doctoral student María del Pilar Plastine, from the Laboratory of Studies in Baculoviruses of the IABIMO, led by Dr. Oscar Taboga. The joint research seeks to optimize baculoviruses as gene transfer vectors through the incorporation of candidate proteins. In this context, on December 1, Dr. Reithofer gave a seminar at our institute on the generation of stable mammalian lines that produce proteins using recombinant baculovirus technology.
