Distribution of Radionuclides ¹³⁷Cs and ⁹⁰Sr in different fractions of flour and whole wheat kernels

Summary

The activity of ⁹⁰Sr in cereals has diminished to 0,31 Bq/kg, or similar like before the accident of Chernobyl and the one of ¹³⁷Cs has decreased to less man 0,16 Bq/kg in 1995. These traces are usually detected by γ-spectrometry and the application of measuring times of up to 200.000 sec. The level of ⁹⁰Sr-activity is mainly influenced by the traces of the bomb-fallout in the 50^th and 60^th The concentration of ⁹⁰Sr in the flour fractions and in bran is correlated directly with the ash-content (r =0,92).
