Promotion

Under the following conditions, the purchase price can be subsidised for students and employees of BOKU and the bikes can be passed on at particularly attractive conditions (own contribution currently € 336.00):

  • Employees: At the time the BOKU-Bike is handed over, there must have been an ongoing employment relationship with the BOKU University for at least one year. Employees must pay tax on the BOKU subsidy, the difference of € 340.45 (as of 09/2024) on the full price, as a non-cash benefit; this is done automatically by HR management as part of payroll accounting.
  • Students: Students must have been enrolled at the BOKU University for at least one year at the time the BOKU-Bike is handed over. Proof of this must be provided in the form of a confirmation of enrolment.

PROMOTION: For all employees and students who register for a new BOKU-Bike in the list of interested parties by 30 November 2024, this requirement is waived.
  • Each person (employees and students) can only receive 1 subsidised BOKU-Bike.
  • If the BOKU-Bikes are reissued and made available, employees and students who meet the above requirements can receive a subsidised BOKU-Bike again after five years at the earliest after purchasing a subsidised BOKU-Bike.

PROMOTION: For all employees and students who register for a new BOKU-Bike in the list of interested parties by 30 November 2024, this requirement is waived.
  • Students with a simultaneous employment contract with the BOKU University are generally considered employees.

Any person or institution can purchase BOKU bikes at full price. The full price is currently € 676.45 incl. VAT (as of 08/2024).

Processing

According to the ‘first come, first served’ principle, we are planning to order the first 100 pcs. BOKU-Bikes in the new design. We recommend that you register for a BOKU-Bike on the list of interested parties as early as possible, but no later than 31 December 2024. Please indicate the frame shape and size carefully, as the bikes delivered will be allocated to the recipients after these registrations and changes are not possible. We can only broker bikes that have been delivered

The production time is around four months (as of 04/2024), so the new BOKU-Bikes will be delivered in spring 2025.

Frame types and guide tables for determining the frame size

Please note that the guide tables can only be an aid to sizing and that the actual frame size depends, for example, on your stride length. If in doubt, we recommend that you opt for the smaller frame size. Thanks to the adjustable saddle and the adjustable handlebar stem, the bike can also be easily adjusted for taller people.

List of interested parties

The BOKU-Bikes are allocated according to the availability of the bikes and the chronological order on the list of interested parties, where you can register for a BOKU-Bike without obligation. (Note: LimeSurvey is used to manage the registration.) To ensure that the BOKU-Bike suits you well, please note the information on frame shape and frame size!

The BOKU-Bikes are specially manufactured and must be ordered with a lead time of around four months. The number of bikes must be determined exactly according to frame shape and frame size. This is why we keep this list. Upon delivery, the available bikes are allocated to the persons according to frame shape and size in chronological order according to the time of registration and declared wishes. You will only be asked to pay your contribution if a BOKU-Bike is available for you. Once payment has been received, you will receive an e-mail informing you that the BOKU-Bike is ready for collection.

Download: Takeover confirmation and contract

All those who have not yet received a BOKU-Bike remain on the list of interested parties. We will contact you as soon as bikes are available.

Change requests (frame shape, size) are virtually impossible to fulfil as there are simply no bikes available. The contractual partner is the association BICYCLE - Entwicklungsprojekt Fahrrad, which also sends the invoice. The bikes are handed over at the Trendwerk bike station at Vienna Central Station and thus become your property. The initial service included in the price is also carried out there and any warranty claims are processed. The bike station also offers additional items, e.g. locks, baskets or panniers, which can be purchased and are gladly installed.
