Applications

The 6500+ QQQ can be coupled to an UHPLC or an ion chromatography system. Analytes are charged using electrospray ionisation. The system is one of the most sensitive MS/MS systems currently available. High selectivity and sensitivity is ensured by fragmenting precursor ions followed by separation and detection of daughter ions. The selected reaction monitoring mode is widely used for accurate quantification of organic molecules in complex matrices such as food or environmental samples.

Technical Information

6500+ Triple Quadrupole MS/MS system. Sciex. Obtained 2022

An Agilent 1290 UHPLC system (using reversed phase or HILIC columns) or a Thermo/Dionex Integrion HPIC system (using anion exchange columns) can be used for separation of analytes from the matrix. The instrument allows fast polarity switching and  (analyte dependent) sensitivity down to the the sub-ppb range. Fast SRM scan rates in the ms-range allow hundreds of analytes to be included into single chromatographic runs.
