Get to know Campus „Türkenschanze“! - Instructions for the Discovery Tour at BOKU

In order to have a good start at BOKU, you need to be familiar with the layout of our campuses. This Discovery Tour will guide you to the most important points and give you information about studying, eating, relaxing and getting information at BOKU.

What do I need and how does it work? 

  • You need: One camera or smartphone per group (internet access is available on all campuses with your BOKUonline registration data!), some money for food/lunch, be free until 2:45 pm and to have fun!
  • Now… Look for the buddies that have the sign with the letter on your group card (A, B, C, D) and follow them to the first station
  • There you will receive two sheets: 1. the first “tour sheet” with some questions and riddles on it. Try to answer all of these questions by following the instructions given
    2. A sheet with a picture on it, and a hint about where it was taken. Follow the instructions, go to the place and find a hidden solution word there
  • When you have found this word, write it down, go back to the buddies and ask them for the next station
  • There are four different stations that you should visit one after the other. In the end you should have found 4 words that make up a solution sentence. All groups that successfully find it will receive a small gift! :-)
  • During the tour take a picture of your group and a regular BOKU Student that has some kind of connection to BOKU and shows what it is like to study here! –  Send it WITH YOUR GROUPNAME & the Declaration of Consent to buddy@boku.ac.at until 1 pm and there will be a vote for the best picture –the winner will get a special prize! (Please note: The picture may be used on social networks, BOKU websites, BOKU-related external platforms and / or in BOKU publications for the purpose of reporting on the event, photo competitions, the university and its activities and documenting life at the university over time. Due to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we kindly ask those of you who took the photo – and therefore has the copyright on the photo – to sign a Declaration of Consent at the beginning of our final meeting at 14:00 in EH05, Exner Haus. With that you allow us to use your photo for information purposes as mentioned above. If you don’t want to be in the pictures used for our information purposes, please make sure not to be in the photo. Thanks for your understanding!)
  • The final meeting will be at 2 pm in EH05, Exner Haus, where we’ll have the awards ceremony. Please be there on time (even if you haven’t finished all the stations)
    To be able to win the prize, you must be present at the final meeting.

You should take some time during the tour to have lunch. While you are going from one station to the other you can explore the food options at BOKU. There will be some tips on the tour sheets.
