The participating students will develop and write seminar papers embedded in the wider thematic field of ‘(Mineral) Raw Materials in the context of regional development’. In our first session, we will jointly discuss the relevance of the topic within the wider sustainability debate (e.g. energy transition, social license to operate, planetary boundaries, regional development aspects in post-mining landscapes, exiting lignite mining – e.g. Germany, human rights, environmental and social issues), and identify possible research topics and develop ‘workable’ research questions. You will present and discuss your results in the seminar and critically reflect and the selected methodological approach and conclusions.
English speakers and international students are cordially invited to participate and are very welcome. All students are invited to write their seminar paper in English.
