Energy flow of Austria and Europe, part of primarily energy sources: oil, natural gas, fossil luels, hydraulic power, biomass. Optimization of the energy flow in the industrial and privat area. Calculation of heat demand of objects and processes. Selection of the corresponding sources of energy. Conventional and biogene fuels, waste fuels. Measurement of the thermal power and the emissions according to the combustion system. Discussion of the individual emission components: CO2, CO, NO, NO2, SO2, Total Organic Hydrocarbon, alcohols, aldehydes, cyclic and polycyclic hydrocarbones, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbones, dioxines.
The regenerative sources of energy will be completed by the utilization of solar energy for heating systems, for drying and preservation. Other systems will be discussed: Photovoltaik, water energy, wind energy, tides energy, fuel cell systems.

In this course knowledge of energy engineering processes which have some influence on the environment, is obtained. In particular the emissions by combustion are discussed. Actual results of combustion projects with different heat plants will be presented and compaired with the limits by law. In addition, further regenerativ sources of energy are explained: thermal solar energy, photovoltaik, wind-energy, fuel-cell, geothermal energy, energy by sea.
