Fungi are distributed ubiquitously and a major component of the microbiome in almost every habitat. In this course, the fungal kingdom will be introduced and the fundamental concepts of fungal molecular -genetics, -genomics and cellular biology will be taught. After each lecture, the key facts will be summarized and discussed.
Content of the course:
The overall goal of this course is to introduce filamentous fungi and to give a detailed overview on the molecular aspects of fungal genetics. This includes the following topics:

Topic 7. Fungi and biotechnology (27. Juni 2022)

Basic knowledge in Genetics and Biochemistry

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Learning Outcomes:
The students will have a detailed understanding of molecular biology and genetics of cells with a strong focus on filamentous fungi. Differences to the cell biology of other eukaryotes including mammalian and plant cells will be discussed.
