This lecture covers topics of physical chemistry that are relevant for (nano)biosciences. The course content can be seen as complementary and adding in depth to the lecture in Biophysical Chemistry. It is therefore recommend that the students are familiar with the contents of this course.
The lecture will cover topics such as: statistical thermodynamics, molecules in motion, molecular reaction dynamics, physical kinetics, polymer and colloidal solutions. Mathematical topics necessary to follow the different topics will also be presented.

After the course the students should know and understand the physical and chemical concepts which explain processes by which thermodynamic takes place in solutions and at interfaces.
