Content

This is an introductory course designed to familiarise students with the use of virtual and augmented reality in behaviour research. It gives an opportunity to test and experience augmented virtuality scenarios in the on-campus virtual reality lab. Moreover, the course provides an overview of state-of-art technologies, novel data types and associated research methodology. The lectures will also include discussions regarding the methodologies' applicability and suitability in human behaviour research and their advantages and disadvantages relative to traditional data sources and analysis methods.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After completion of the course, the students will be able to:
- Identify state-of-art virtual technologies used in behaviour research and evaluate their applicability in a practical context
- Describe challenges and benefits of using virtual environments (VE) in the behaviour research
- Visualise and conduct a statistical analysis of the VE-based data in Excel
