Participation and Kids
The seminar focusses on open space in urban municipalities and participation of children and teenagers in planning processes. Some approaches deal with the municipality in general, as e.g. the „Spielraumkonzept“ in Vorarlberg or „Werkstatt junges Wien“ in Vienna. Others center on single open spaces as a park, a playground or a school yard.
Participation projects in different parts of Austria will be enquired and their approaches and outcomes will be discussed in the seminar. A field trip to Vorarlberg (the most western part of Austria) offers the chance to get to know players and participation projects that have been carried out the recent years.
In addition, texts will give an introduction to the field of participation of kids. The texts will be discussed in the seminar as a basis for the analysis of the practice of participation.
