This lecture focuses on the experience of practicing engineers or the client (public or private sector) in water resources projects implemented in Austria and abroad. Theory and practical examples will be presented with an emphasis on the complex inter¬disciplinary approach in water related projects. Strong emphasis will be given on the potential controversies between ecology, engineering and socio-economics. The main objective is to show the student the interaction between legal, technical and administrative aspects of the life cycle of a project and the necessary management tools.
