Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

• They are familiar with the essential parts of our energy system and can identify the contributions of individual energy sources to climate change.
• They understand the basic principles of energy conversion, including thermal power processes.
• They can list the possibilities for renewable electricity generation and identify the implementation hurdles.
• They can evaluate and compare the use of the most important energy sources in the sectors of industry, buildings, and transportation based on defined metrics.
• They can critically discuss measures for emission-free energy supply and negative emission technologies.
