After completion of the course, the students are able to:
- Recall the essential soil processes and explain their underlying mechanisms.
- Explain how different soil indicators affect soil processes and how this influences soil functions.
- Apply simple pedotransfer functions for estimating soil indicators.
- Analyze soil profile data and assess a soil's status with respect to its ability to perform different functions and to resist different threats.
- Devise management recommendations for improved soil health and protection.
