The students get to know the approach to steady-state modelling of chemical processes in combination with process simulation software. The practical pat of the course is based on the equation-oriented simulation tool IPSEpro. Basic process configurations are implemented using standard components. Simple own unit models are developed, tested and used in own process models.
.
- Previous knowledge expected
-
none - basic knowledge of physics, chemistry and themodynamics is helpful
.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
Participants can explain the general structure of process simulation programs. They will be able to set up converging flow sheet simulation models with a given model library. They can describe the basic structure of unit models and independently implement unit models in the equation-oriented simulation program and systematically test them for fuctionality.
