The seminar prepares for writing a mater-thesis in the field of social ecology and teaches the basics of literature research and writing. The students prepare seminar-themes in connection with their planned or already running theses, present and discuss their results in the seminar and write a seminar paper. The topics are specified jointly at the beginning of the seminar, and the outcomes of the seminar should, if possible, represent a direct added value for the thesis (e.g. for introduction/context or state of research).

After the successful completion of the course, students have gained skill
•to narrow down a topic, derive a research question and to independently research and analyze scientific literature based on concrete questions in the context of the topic of their thesis.
