Content

"Hydrological droughts" will be the topic of this year's seminar. The topic will be elaborated based on the same-titled textbook of Tallaksen and Van Lanen (2004) (the 2nd edition may alredy be available at the course). Selected chapters will be read and presented by the participants followed by a general discussion by the audience. A blocked mode is intended (3 seminaries).

Previous knowledge expected

The seminar is only open for HR21 PhD students.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Upon completion of this course, the participants will have
* gained a basic understanding of hydrological drought processes and estimation methods for streamflow and groundwater.
* improved their presentation skills to present complex literature in an easily understandable and well-structured manner to an interdisciplinary auditorium
* advanced their ability to adress critical questions and give valuable comments about scientific concepts from other disciplines
