Content

The course provides an overview of conceptual perspectives on landscape, planning and sustainability and their theoretical foundations. It conveys relevant contemporary theoretical perspectives that are discussed and negotiated in current discourses. The following topics and cross-cutting themes are presented in the course:
- Conceptions of landscape
- Landscape as commons and collective action problem - Landscape governance
- Sustainability transformations
- Communicative planning theories
- Intersectionality and gender
- Power and Justice

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students will be familiar with different theoretical concepts that are relevant for (landscape) planning issues and research.
Students can discuss landscape from different conceptual perspectives.
Students gain experience in reading and contextualising scientific articles.
