The course consists of seven compulsory teaching units.
The first sessions introduce the course structure, the concept of terroir in viticulture and the wine business, and establish student workgroups. Students will also be introduced to the wine region that will be developed during the course.
The following units focus on selected wine-producing countries, exploring their terroir, climate, production systems, and wines. These lectures are delivered by external viticulture experts.
Most sessions include a guided wine tasting. Students must bring their own tasting glass; a participation fee will be required, depending on the number of participants.
Students will work in groups to present a winegrowing region of their choice.
