Content

The master Curriculum requires a practical expierience (internship) of 3 weeks. The Focus of the internship should be related to the scope of the Curriculum "Wood Technology and Management". The internship may be covered in the surounding of the (technical) management of enterprises incl. research and development, organisations, in research institutions etc. (national or international).

There are two possible ways to find an internship:
• A: The student develops a proposal themselves, contacts a company they know on their own initiative, and applies for an internship.
• B: The student develops a proposal themselves. If they do not know of a suitable company, they contact the course instructors, who are happy to provide advice and support. As with A, you are responsible for contacting the company and applying for an internship yourself.

-> In order to prevent potential rejection of a practical placement, it is mandatory to obtain an assessment of the potential suitability of the planned placement from the course instructors prior to the placement.

To assess the suitability of the planned internship, the planned internship activities must be submitted to the course instructors in writing via email.
The following information must be included:
>Company/institute - What does the company/institute do?
>Address - Website address
>Contact person
>Planned activities, tasks (in accordance with the requirements of the curriculum)

The most likely time frames for completing the internships are the summer vacation and the semester break.

-> For the internship to be recognized, an oral presentation must be held as part of the “Wood Technology and Management” course:

Presentation of the internship already completed:
(8 min, 5-8 slides, + 2 min discussion, structural requirements for the presentation will be communicated) as part of the course unit.

The dates for the presentations are as follows in the academic year:
in October and March

Previous knowledge expected

Final presentation:
>Company/institute – What does the company/institute do?
>Address – Website address
>Contact person
>Activities/tasks performed (summary/overview)
>Highlight of an activity/task – how did this benefit the company/institute?
>How did this benefit you personally?
>Summary of the internship (including any recommendations)
