Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Upon successful completion of this module, students will be able to:

− Select and practically implement appropriate propagation and pruning methods for the most important fruit varieties
− Make decisions regarding management measures for the most important fruit varieties and justify these decisions
− Identify and analyze symptoms of abiotic and biotic stress in important fruit varieties and initiate and justify appropriate measures
− Recognize important fruit varieties on real plants, name and demonstrate their special botanical characteristics, and assess their stage of development
− Describe cultivation methods using examples of pome, stone, and berry fruits and discuss their advantages and disadvantages
− Subject selected fruit varieties or cultivars to a sensory evaluation
− Differentiate, explain, and evaluate applied working methods in organic fruit production according to efficiency and economic criteria
