In order to successfully complete the dissertation seminar, you must actively participate in two seminar sessions. In the winter semester, decentralized sessions are offered; please consult with your advisor. In the summer semester, there are three centralized sessions. Your presentations do not have to take place in the same semester.
1) At the first session, you must present the CONCEPT of your dissertation. You can include methodological aspects, experimental approaches, initial results and interpretations, etc., and have the opportunity to discuss these with the researchers in the department and with the other doctoral candidates.
2) At the second session, you should present and interpret the RESULTS of your doctoral thesis. The interpretation should focus in particular on the current state of knowledge/current literature. Here, too, you will have the opportunity to discuss these with the researchers in the department and with other doctoral candidates.
PLEASE remember that your presentation slot is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes, i.e., 10 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion and speaker change. Practice your presentation and stick to the time limit.
Please always discuss the time of your participation and the content of your presentation with your supervisor and have them register you before the start of the semester!
Your supervisor is your contact person for all matters and will also enter your assessment!
