As part of the mandatory module "Basics of Location," students are taught fundamental chemical knowledge, including atomic and molecular structure, types of chemical bonds, periodic properties of elements, properties of selected inorganic and organic compounds, the law of mass action, and stoichiometric calculations. Subsequently, selected chemical processes in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere are discussed, which are of particular significance for students of forestry.
- Previous knowledge expected
-
Basic chemical knowledge (AHS high school diploma level)
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
In the "Basics of Location" module, students acquire fundamental knowledge in chemistry, geology, and climatology. After successfully completing this module, students will have a solid foundational understanding of inorganic and organic chemistry, be able to understand chemical processes in the atmosphere, water, soil, and rocks, as well as their interactions. They will also be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to address practical, interdisciplinary, and environmentally relevant questions.
